Corrections
When we are wrong, the correction runs at the top of the next cable, dated, in both languages, stating what was said, what is now believed, and what changed. It is also recorded here. Past cables are dated records of what was believed when they were written; they are never silently edited. A correction is a new dated note, linked from the original.
The box does not run when there is nothing to correct. A weekly ritual of announcing that nothing is wrong trains the reader to skip the one element that must never be skipped.
